It is officially Sangria season!
After suffering through the past four days of atrocious weather here in Portland (hail storms in June, really!?), the sun has come out and I am ready for the porch-sitting, sangria-sipping days of summer.
Yes, yes, I know. Summer in the Northwest doesn’t really start until after the fourth of July, but just let me enjoy my fleeting moment in the sun with a tall glass of this Raspberry-Lemonade inspired Sangria.
Isn’t it pretty? When I made this I was in a really girly mood. I’m not usually a “pink” type of gal, so I surprised myself by making what I thought was a highly feminine drink.
I was proven wrong when I took a batch of this over to a dinner party and it was swiftly consumed by the husband and his manly friends.
Our amazing friends Jason & Michele just bought a new house AND had a new baby, yet somehow had the energy to host a group of us over for dinner.
There was a moment when I looked around and realized that most of the ladies were drinking beer and most of the men were drinking pink Sangria Spritzers. We have awesome friends.
I love making Sangria for parties and groups because it is so easy to make in a bulk batch. It can be overwhelming to make and shake individual cocktails for a party, but put out a pre-made pitcher of Sangria and the hard work is already done!
If you like my pretty glass pitcher, here’s the link to see it on Amazon.
Take this Raspberry-Lemon Blush Sangria to your next summer get-together and watch it disappear!
