I know that I just got back from my last *big trip* a few months ago, but I’m already in need of another getaway.
I don’t mind traveling alone, but there’s nothing like coming home and knowing that your travel companion will help you remember all those adventures you had while on the road.
I had SO much fun on my last trip with my sister, Emily. She might be the best travel companion of all time.
When I heard about an opportunity to get some quality face time in with my kid sister with Choice Hotels, I said “Ooooh, pick me!!” annnnnnnd they did.
Considering that Choice Hotels has 11 brands of hotels in more than 5,000 destinations, we could pretty much decide to go anywhere.
After suffering through 12 flights in 14 days on our last trip, I thought it might be nice to pick somewhere that was close to home. Staycations are all the rage right now.
Lucky for us, we live about an hour away from the Willamette Valley wine country! I used the Choice Hotels app on my phone to pick out a place to stay in McMinnville, which is right where we want to be. Choice Hotels has lots of different options for travelers (business, group booking, leisure, etc.), so it was easy to find just what I was looking for. I also joined their handy loyalty program, Choice Privileges, so I could earn points toward rewards and customize my experience. I’m even earning bonus airline miles for my stay, which is completely amazing for travel junkies like me.
We won’t need to pack our head-to-toe khaki ensembles for our hour-long road trip, but somehow I think we’ll survive.
I’m incredibly excited for some quality sister time in the wine valley. We can visit wineries, enjoy some wine tastings, drink wine, join some wine clubs, buy a few bottles of wine….. um, yeah. So there will be wine.
I’ve been working my way through the nearly 2500 pictures we took on our last big trip, and found a few gems that show Emily in all her glory.
I’m sure she’ll want to kill me for posting these!
Truly, it’s her own fault for making a funny face every time I try to take a picture of her.
I’m sure I’ll have lots of fun photos from our little trip to share with you when we get back!
