We are so excited to share with you that Phase 1 of The Wanderlust Kitchen Website Redesign is complete!
Here is an overview of what has been changed and improved.
What Was Old is Now New
We decided to go back to the original logo as it captures both the food and travel aspects of the website and we like the color scheme better.
Here is the original logo, which is now the new logo. Makes sense, right?
Here is the old logo for fun.
A Much More User Friendly Home Page
We have drastically changed the home page to make it more user friendly.
You can see the latest recipes at the top.
Under that you can see the most popular posts.
You can now explore by Course to see the latest recipes in each of these categories.
If you want to see all of the recipes for the Course, just click the link below the photos. In this example, since Salads are selected, the link below is “Go to All Salad Recipes”.
You can now explore by Cuisine to see the latest recipes in each of these categories, and similar to how the Courses work, if you want to see all of the recipes for the Cuisine, just click the link below the photos. In this example, since Indian is selected, the link below is “Go to All Indian Recipes”.
Next, we have a little bragging to do since we are featured in many top websites. We haven’t listed them all, but here are a few.
And finally, the last item on our home page is our top travel posts.
Website Speed is Important
No one likes to wait on a slow website to download, especially on mobile phones, but with a food blog that has many high resolution photos, this can be a challenge.
Well, we are certainly up for this challenge and this update drastically improves the speed of The Wanderlust Kitchen, especially for mobile phones.
An Improved Recipe Index
The recipe index has been improved to show the hierarchy of the recipe categories. For example, you can clearly see that Chinese and Thai cuisine categories are included in the Asian category. In addition, you can see the number of recipes for each category.
But Wait, There’s More!
We have a second phase of updates that are coming soon, so stay tuned to hear about a few more improvements.
