If you’re looking for something light and flavorful, these Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps are perfect. They’re quick to make, ready in 30 minutes, and full of deliciousness.
Heat the peanut oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the turkey breast in large pinches and cook for 2 minutes, breaking up large pieces as you go. Add the onions and bell pepper and cook for another 2 minutes.
Add the fish sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to the pan. Toss well to coat. Continue to cook until the turkey is cooked through and the vegetables have just softened (another 1–3 minutes).
Remove from the pan and place in a large bowl. Top with chopped scallions.
To serve, spoon the turkey mixture into individual lettuce leaves. Enjoy!
Notes
To store Asian Lettuce Wraps, keep the turkey filling in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. I don't recommend freezing the filling as it may alter the texture. When ready to reheat, you can warm the filling on the stove for 5-10 minutes or in the microwave for about 1-2 minutes, stirring halfway through. Be sure to keep the lettuce separate and add fresh leaves when serving to maintain crispness.
