Skip the ice cream and enjoy this lightened-up Bananas Foster Milkshake with Greek yogurt, caramelized bananas, and rum – a refreshing twist on a classic!
1tablespooncaramel sauceand a little more for drizzle (I use Torani)
6ouncesvanilla Greek frozen yogurt
1ouncemilkor more as needed
Instructions
Melt the butter over medium heat in a small frying pan. Slice the banana in half lengthwise and fry in the butter for 1-2 minutes per side until caramelized.
Pour the rum into the pan (using caution when near an open flame) and toss the bananas around to absorb the liquid. Transfer the bananas and any pan sauce to the bowl of a large blender.
Add the caramel sauce and frozen yogurt to the blender, along with an ounce of milk. Blend until smooth.
Drizzle caramel sauce into a glass and pour in the milkshake.
Notes
This Banana Milkshake is best enjoyed fresh, but if you have leftovers, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day. Shake or blend it again before drinking as the texture may separate slightly.Freezing is not recommended, as it can affect the smooth consistency. For the best flavor and texture, make and serve the milkshake immediately.
