In a large pot over medium-high heat, add the butter, carrots, brown sugar, and water and bring to a boil.
Then cover the pot and reduce the heat to a simmer for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes remove the cover and turn the heat back up to medium to cook until all the water has evaporated and the carrots are tender.
Add the salt and pepper and cook for 1 minute. Then remove from the heat.
Finally, serve and enjoy!

You can store any leftovers of your brown sugar carrots in an airtight container in your fridge for 4-5 days. To reheat you can do so on the stovetop over medium heat with a splash of water or pat of butter. You can also reheat in the microwave until everything has warmed through.You can freeze these carrots in an airtight container in your freezer for up to 2 months. However, note the texture may be slightly altered after being frozen.
