These Chinese Green Beans are a flavorful side dish made with crisp-tender green beans cooked until lightly blistered and tossed in a savory garlic sauce. They have a satisfying crunch and a delicious balance of salty and slightly sweet flavors. How to Make Chinese Green Beans

Step #1: In a small bowl mix together the oyster sauce, sugar and soy sauce, set aside.

Step #2: Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat, add the minced garlic and stir for 20 seconds.

Step #3: Next, add in the green beans and stir until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes.

Step #4: Pour in the sauce into the pan and cook until the green beans have attained your desired degree of doneness.

Step #5: Finally serve with a drizzle of sesame oil and some chopsticks and enjoy!

FAQs

What other flavors can I use in these Chinese Green Beans?

Any you’d like. For a spicy kick you can add red pepper flakes. If you are wanting a sweeter version you can add in some honey. You can also enhance the flavor by adding some kosher salt and pepper to your taste.

Do I have to use vegetable oil for these beans?

No. You can use olive oil or even canola oil for these Chinese long beans.

Storage Information

Store any leftovers of these Chinese Green Beans in an airtight container in your fridge for 3-4 days. To reheat you can do so in a skillet on the stovetop or in the microwave until everything has warmed through.

Freezing is not recommended because the beans will become watery and lose their crisp texture.
