Irish Mule

Sit back, relax, and enjoy a refreshing Irish Mule. Irish whiskey combined with ginger beer and a splash of fresh lime juice to create a fun and crisp cocktail.

This Irish Mule recipe is a refreshing twist on the classic Moscow Mule cocktail. It swaps out vodka for Irish whiskey to create a richer cocktail. You can make this drink any time of year, but I like to make it for St. Patrick’s Day because for me it is more festive and fun than drinking green beer.

Recipe Ingredients

Irish Whiskey – The liquor used in this cocktail to make it an Irish Mule. I recommend using Jameson.

Ginger Beer – A crisp carbonated mixer that adds that one of a kind taste you get from a mule.

Lime Juice – To add a tangy element to this Irish Mule.

FAQs

What kind of garnish can I use for my Irish Mule?

I like to use a lime slice, or lime wedges along with a mint leaf sprig.

Can I substitute the ginger beer for anything else?

If you are wanting to swap out the ginger beer you can use ginger ale which would be the closest ingredient to give you a similar overall taste.

Storage Information

This Irish Mule is best enjoyed immediately after mixing, because the ginger beer will eventually lose its carbonation. If you need to prep ahead of time I would recommend mixing the Irish whiskey and lime juice and you can store it in the fridge for 24 hours. Then when you are ready to serve you can add the ginger beer and enjoy!
