Best of 2013

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you’re not suffering from too terrible of a headache today, and are possibly up to make some delicious slow cooked black eyed peas (as are traditional for New Year’s Day!).

The Wanderlust Kitchen - Best of 2013

In honor of the new year before us, I thought it would be nice to take a look back over the past year at my most-loved moments, and your most-loved recipes.

I’ve been busy this past year!

January – February – March

The husband and I went on a crazy diet and lost over 50 pounds between the two of us. As such, we were very boring and didn’t really do much of anything the first quarter of the year.

April

The husband and I went to Playa Del Carmen for a week and had an AMAZING time. We got to see Chichen Itza and Tulum which were both totally amazing. I got about 18 mosquito bites.

May

The Wanderlust Kitchen was born!

June

I completed graduate school and finished my Master of Business Administration!

Graduation

July

The husband and I took an awesome trip to San Diego with our friends to attend a wedding – we had a blast!

Here I am drinking a recovery coconut the next morning:

August

In August we celebrated our first wedding anniversary!

Here’s an awesome shot from our wedding day… someone had yelled “pretend like you’re in Star Wars!”

…and then 30 minutes later I set my dress on fire. True story.

September

My kid sister proposed to her girlfriend – and they let me take their engagement photos!

October

My family has an awesome tradition of going to the Pumpkin Patch every year! Here’s a shot of my older sister picking out her pumpkin!

November

I started reading the Outlander series, which is STILL pretty much taking over my life. I think I took a break from reading to celebrate the husband’s birthday and host Thanksgiving, but other than that I pretty much read all month.

December

Between all of the birthdays, parties, and holiday events this month I *almost* forgot to celebrate my 100th recipe post on The Wanderlust Kitchen! That Paradise Fried Rice was a total hit at our house.

And now, because you are so wonderful and patient, I give you…
